"This is the cake I did for my grand daughter's Christening. She loved it! I had only returned from holiday 3 days before, but had all the flowers made and the body of the doll covered, so it was an easy job to cover the cake and add the skirt and flower arrangement at the last minute."

That's a very pretty cake and wow, what a cute grand daughter, she looks just like a doll herself! Thank you Wendy, for sending them in.

"The recipe for this Dundee cake is taken from 'Cakes, Pastries and Bread by Jennie Reekie' and is part of the St Michael Cookery Library published in 1977. I used a 7 inch (18cm) cake tin. Cooking time is 2 1/2 hrs.
For added oomph, once cooled, use a skewer to poke a few holes in the top of the cake and then apply a capful of rum or brandy. Store in a tin for a week and then apply another capful."

Here are a couple of truly delicious looking cakes, prepared just for eating. If you are browsing for ideas for a Sunday teatime treat, I am sure you would have to agree, these look scrumptious! (and yes, I know no-one uses that word any more, ever, but it does fit!)
