Maria's CakesChocolate Fudge Slab CakeMaria sent in this fantastic decorated slab cake. She says "[Here is a] Chocolate and coffee fudge cake with chocolate butter cream icing, done in a wide roasting tray, the fudge cake just left in there and my 5-year old daughter and her friend decorated it with sweets for my birthday, which was a heartwarming present. As you could see the edges of the tray, I covered them with egg white and icing sugar mixture and let the children cover them with sweets, which solidified after a while."
Birthday MousseMaria says, "The one with No2 on it is a large chocolate and raspberry mousse with whipped cream used to write on it for a very quick 'cake' on the day as the party was earlier, and it was a hit, among the children and adults alike!"
Smile Cake Here is James who had his tenth birthday recently. What a lovely cake! ![]()
Nasturtium Flower Cake A lovely combinatioon of colours and shapes on this super celebratory cake.
Sealife Cake Sealife abound on this tasty looking cake. A very colouful design is followed throughout including the candles.
Sunshine CakeI love the look of this cake, it is made even better by the fact that the face is not in the centre, but jauntily to one side.
Candy House CakeA delightful house shaped cake covered in all sorts of candy. I bet it was a real shame to eat it!
Red Car CakeA cute little red car driving in the sunshine with a 'Happy Birthday' message in the clouds for Theo. Notice that the board is also decorated in the theme.
Me CakeA great idea, when you are the cake maker of the household, is to make one for yourself! Does anyone else have one they made for themselves? I bet you didn't sing Happy Birthday to yourself - I bet there were lots of people lining up for cake!
Chocolate Clown CakeAn eyecatching clown picture made up of tiny shapes like a mosaic. It just looks like such a happy cake!
Chocolate Snow Scene Cake'MMMMMM chocolate', with icing and a bit of cake thrown in for good measure. The fact that it looks a little sticky really adds to the appeal here - cake anyone? Form a queue...
Super Easter Cake This cake has chicks, eggs, grass, and a lovely daffodil centrepiece. I also love the way it has been photographed surrounded by Easter fluffies and eggs too!
Spider CakeGreat for Halloween or for kids that love creepy crawlies, this spider cake will also be good to eat, eight people can have a leg each!
Christmas Tree Cake Maria also sent in this terrific Christmas Tree Cake. Again a good use of colour and small decorations make up the tinsel etc. The board is also decorated.
Kitty CakeThis looks like a rabbit or a cat, but the ears are quite short, so I have decided it is a cat! I am wondering if Maria has been creative again and decorated something other than a cake here, as it doesn't look very deep. It has great whiskers though doesn't it! Is that a fluffy white tail to the right? Perhaps I am wrong - perhaps it is a rabbit after all!
Heart Cake This would be really nice for Valentine's Day with the hearts on the top. Or perhaps a raffle prize for heart related fundraising!
Fish Cake Here is an oval shaped cake on a fish shaped dish with lots of wacky decoration. Nicely photographed on a deck chair style background, well done:)
Lion Cake A big growly kitty cat with a tufty mane all around. I think those whiskers might be spaghetti and the curly candles are a nice touch.
Wind in the Willows Cake A pretty flowery cake with jelly bean leaves and hundreds and thousands on the petals.
Butterfly Cake A butterfly cake with green background, possibly dessicated coconut and green food colouring or shredded green fondant icing. Please send your cake pictures to: |
